Retired Married 2
Still blessed to be married to Milton (a Crabber), after all these years, is my success story.
Being a Steno-Clerk for C&O Railway (CSX) 1964-1975, was such a very interesting job.
We parented two sons, Clark and Jonathan. Desiring to be more available as a mother, I served as an assistant day care director.
We relocated to Charleston, WV from Hampton in 1976, as my husband became manager for Kanawha Valley Regional Transit Co. We moved to Fresno, CA in 1981. Yosemite National Park was a frequent weekend trip. We returned to Charleston, WV in 1983. It was great to travel to London and Paris in 1986. I loved my job as manager for a bookstore in Charleston, owned and operated by Moody Bible Institute,of Chicago, IL. This allowed me to travel to bookseller conventions, meet authors and attend Dove Music Awards in Nashville, TN.
When our first of 3 grandsons was born, work became less exciting. A granddaughter coming into our lives created a desire to leave the work force and enjoy being a grandmother.
Birding and gardening are a pleasure, but, being a grandparent is most rewarding.
Our Creator has granted me great health and happiness. To have helped someone along this journey of life means my living will not have been in vain.

Resource Development Consultant Single Again 2
Hmmmm, How do I possibly recap 50 years of living into a small little box...here's my best shot:

1963-1967 - college and marriage to fellow NNHS classmate, Bill Barnes

1967-1991 - lived in Ottawa, Canada where, (amidst lots of snow and freezing weather no one should have to endure), Bill completed his PhD in Clinical Psychology and I worked for the U.S. Government Dept. of Defense.   We had two children, Jason (42) who lives in Va. Beach with his wife and the two most amazing children on the planet; and our daughter Bronwyn (38) who lives in NYC and works as a Senior Editor for Entertainment Weekly Magazine.

1991- Present - I live in Virginia Beach, where I relocated when Bill and I divorced but remained good friends until he passed away in April 2007.  I spend much of my time doting on my two grandchildren, working part-time as a resource development consultant and taking life a lot less seriously with each passing year.

God has blessed me with an abundant life enriched by good friends and a wonderful family.  I have never gone hungry, been without a warm and safe home and so far I still manage to get myself out of bed and continue to know my name and what day it is.

Life is good!

Soooooo bummed that I won't be joining in the 50th reunion fun...I will be scratching off one of two remaining "places I want to see in my lifetime" on my bucket list...The Great Wall of China".  My best wishes for health and happiness to all of my Typhoon friends!

Retired H.S Math Teacher Widowed 2

Where has the 50 years gone? My life has been filled with many adventures, much like playing Monopoly. I have been around the board multiple times experiencing both highs and lows. This adventure began with graduation from NNHS followed with getting a BS in Mathematics from MWC (MWU now!). While at MWC I met Warren Uecker. After graduation came teaching Summer school at NNHS with Mr. Nuttycombe as the principal! Needless to say it was weird to be sitting in the teacher's lounge with Mrs. Stokes and some of my other teachers!
Marriage in August then life began at Virginia Beach as a Math teacher at Kellam High School. Warren worked at Dam Neck as a computer operator for ITT Data Services. Virginia Beach was where our two children were born. Warren Coverton(1971) and Susan Michelle(1974). We lived in Medford Lakes NJ(1 year), Virginia Beach Virginia (3times), Newport RI (2times), Renton WA, Fredericksburg VA (19 years),Reno, NV (7years)retiring in Stuarts Draft VA August 2005! Warren, better known to me as Chief worked for military contractors which caused us to move around so much.
Our son Warren C. was married to Linda Day on the cruise ship Carnival Glory(2004) and they have son Ryan (7.5). He is a Water Treatment Plant Operator for Stafford County and Linda is a CT technologist and they live in Fredericksburg VA. Our daughter Susan M. is married to Ryan Kessel and has two children: Ella (5.5) and Evan (3.3). Susan is a Cytogeneticist for Quest Diagnostics and Ryan is a lawyer for the Veterans Administration and they live in McLean VA.
Chief passed away in 2007 after our first grandson was born (2005) and our daughter was married (2006). He was my complement and I miss him very much.
In my teaching I tried to be a good example for my students and always tried to have a good time in the class (like Mr. Leonard) and control in the class (like Mrs. Diamonstein). Believe it or not I taught Geometry for just about every one of the 27 years I taught. My teaching assignments were at Kellam High School(1967-1971) Cape Henry Collegiate School l(1977-1978), Spotsylvania High School (1982-1999) Reno High School (1999-2001)and Reed High School(2002-2005)
Since retirement, I had been up and down the road going to McLean and over to Fredericksburg to see my grandchildren. Enjoying my SPCA Dog, Maggie and doing endless yard work since our house has many, many trees. It seems like I am always getting up leaves! I love the birds that we have in Stuarts Draft and all the antique shops.
I do miss NNHS however.

Seminary Professor Married
After high school I attended Old Dominion for two years, but without much real purpose. In 1965 I entered the Air Force and served until 1969. Coming out of the service I went to work in the Shipyard in the Electronic Systems Test Group. I met and married my wife, Pansy Carter (NNHS 1969), and became a Christian.

In 1971 I was called into the Christian ministry and went back to college and seminary at Tennessee Temple University. After finishing a couple of Masters' degrees and teaching for three years on the college level, in 1980 I went to Winona Lake, IN, to pursue my doctorate at Grace Theological Seminary. In 1983 I took a position at a small seminary in Allen Park, MI, a suburb of Detroit. I am starting my 31st year this month at Detroit Baptist Theological Seminary, where I serve as Academic Dean and Professor of New Testament.

When I was in the 10th grade, I believe, I was in 2nd year Latin, and we got a new Latin teacher that year, Miss Joan Brewer. One day in class she was teaching us a little about Greek (the alphabet, etc.). I had no real interest in Greek (or in Latin, for that matter), but now reflect on how ironic it is that I have spent most of my life teaching New Testament Greek.

God bless you all. Sorry I will not be able to make the reunion.

Retired Judge Married 4
After NNHS, went to UVa, graduated, taught in junior high one year. That experince impelled me to UVa law, graduated, clerked for a year for a federal judge, then moved to Gloucester in '72. Practised law until '94, including four terms as Commonwealth's Attorney. Always ran unopposed: nobody else wanted the job. In '94, became a general district court judge, and in '98, became a circuit court judge, both on the Middle Peninsula. Retired in '09, although I still sit as a substitute judge in courts in eastern Va. I have taught as an adjunct professor of law at W&M law school since '99.

More important, I have four children: Pete, 48, married,  lives and works in Cleveland. Jeff, 47, married, lives in Middlesex county and is a general district court judge (my former job). Kate, 23 (!) , unmarried, works in Alexandria, and plans to go to graduate school. Alex, 19 (!!), unmarried, is starting her second year at UT-Knoxville.

My wife Kathy and I live in Williamsburg.

In retirement, I strive to do nothing well!!
