To try and comprehend that we are getting ready to celebrate our 50th Class Reunion is unreal.  There is no way we are all past retirement age and moving in to this chapter of our lives.  Sometimes it is scary but most of the time I am elated that we finally made it here!!

I look forward to seeing everyone and am counting the days.  Jim and I live in a small bedroom community of Lake Norman, NC.  We are about 30 miles west of Charlotte.

We have 2 children and 8 grandchildren.  They all live in Peachtree City, GA and we see them frequently 2 of our oldest are Daniel and Will, both 20 and getting ready for their 3rd year in college at Valdosta State; Alex is 18 and just graduated from high school and is on her way to play soccer at Southern College in Georgia; Sydney, our cheerleader, will be 17 in July and is a rising Senior; Jackson is 17, our golfer and a rising senior....both attend McIntosh High School, Peachtree City, Ga; Zachary is 17 and a rising junior....he excels in lacrosse and we are taking him on a 3 week trip north to participate in some showcase tournaments; Zoe is 13 and plays soccer and lacrosse; and last but certainly not least, Addie, who also participates in competitive cheering, is 10!  We are very proud of these kids so we have to brag as I am sure  you understand!!

Jim and I have been happily married for 29 years!  He has attended most of the reunions with me and enjoys you all as much as I do!  We both can't wait!!  See you soon!!!!

Can it be 50 years since we graduated from Newport News High?  I think it was another lifetime!

Joe and I have been married for 34 years now and I am still enjoying my retirement; Joe is still working for Oceaneering International (7 years now - don’t think he’ll ever quit!!!)  I have been cancer-free now for 12 years; and thank God for every day that’s been given to me.

Joe and I still travel some; took a motorcoach trip out West in June 2012 and hit Key West in April 2013.  We had a great time and are glad we’ve been able to see lots of our great country.

Joe and I can’t wait to see who shows up at the 50th!!!!

Retired Married 2
I live in Smithfield, VA with my husband, Dickie.  We are enjoying the retired life now, and have been married 47 years in November
After high school  I attended Dixie Hospital (Hampton) for 2 years to study X-ray Technology.  My first job was the the brand new Riverside Hospital.  Does that make me old?
We have lived in Florida, Colorado, and Ashville, NC, and after 19 years came back home in 1993.
We have a son who is 42 and a Master Chief in the Navy.  Our daughter is a registered nurse, and have blessed us with 4 grandchildren.  Brittany is almost 21 and graduated from college last June.  Her brother Wade is a senior in high school.  Our little ones are Morgan  6-1/2 and Nicholas 18 months.
I am looking forward to seeing everyone at the reunion.  Some of us look like it is still 1963, and some of us have changed "a little".
Thanks to all who have worked so hard on our reunions.  I love to talk the "good old days".  Life wasn't so complicated, except for Government class.  It was the pits!

Retired Principal Married 1

After graduation from NNHS, I worked at several jobs, including shipyard apprentice, telephone lineman, and cable television programmer, before going to college.

In 1976 I graduated from Christopher Newport University.  By this time, I had divorced and remarried.  Michael, Pam, and I moved to the Shenandoah Valley the next year, and I began teaching middle school math and physical education and coaching wrestling, tennis, and volleyball at Parry McCluer High School.

In a few years, I enrolled at UVA and earned a Masters and then an Educational Specialist degree.  For several years I was also an adjunct professor at a nearby community college.  I retired as principal of the middle school in 2004.

Michael liked living in a small city and made many close friends.  He was center on one of Parry McCluer's state championship football teams.  He went to Longwood College, Pam's alma mater, where he played rugby and majored in education.  For two years, he played football on a semi-pro team.  Eventually, he, too, earned his Master's in Education and Educational Specialist degrees from UVa.  Today, he teaches computer technology and coaches football and basketball at Parry McCluer.

Juli is our daughter-in-law,  she is both pretty and smart and is the psychologist and head of special education services for Buena Vista City Schools.

Michael and Juli have one child.  Ben is sixteen.  Two years ago, he was one of eleven students appointed as messenger to the State Senate.  He lived and worked in Richmond for two months during the legislative session.  As a freshman, he started on Parry McCluer's football team.  In his first year at the high school, he became the top weightlifter in the school.  Despite a knee injury, he won sixth in the state this year as a wrestler in the 170-pound weight class.  He also runs track and consistently is named to the Honor Roll.
Michael, Juli, and I are deacons at Buena Vista Baptist Church.  For many years, I had the privilege of teaching the ladies' Sunday School class.

I also spent many happy hours on the golf course.

Retired Divorced 2
After graduation, I worked for various attorneys.  I married Jerry Burks (Class of 1962) in 1966.  We have two lovely daughters, Stephanie (45) and Margaret Ann (42).  Jerry and I divorced in 1982.  I have one grandson, Zachary, who is finishing his first year as a member of the Corps of Cadets at Virginia Tech.  We are all great Hokie fans.

I relocated from Hampton to Isle of Wight County in 2000, back to where I was born, and have become a country girl.  I retired after 23 years with the City of Hampton (The American Theatre), and am enjoying a semi-retired life.  I work a part-time job to keep me out of trouble and getting up and out at least three days a week.

I am happy and am thankful for what God has given me.
